Q) What is your hourly rate?
A) After choosing from the service packages available for your project, our rates by employee are:
Principal, $125. per hour
AutoCAD technician, $100. per hour
Design Assistant, $75. per hour
Q) What areas do you serve?
A) Alameda, East Bay cities, San Francisco, and the Peninsula.
Q) Do you provide Architectural Services?
A) No, at this time Sand & Stars does not provide licensed architectural drawings. However, we can provide general AutoCAD drafting services for non-structural remodeling projects. We are happy to measure your space and provide a general floor plan for your use, upon request.
Q) Do you pull permits from the city?
A) No, we leave permitting requests to the general contractor.
Q) Can you purchase items wholesale from trade-only resources?
A) Yes, Sand & Stars is able to facilitate purchases from trade-only resources like the San Francisco Design Center.
Q) I want something super-custom and made just for me, can you handle that?
A) No sweat, I've spent the last ten years doing just that. It takes time and money, but I know the best carpenters, upholsterers and artisans in the Bay Area who love to take on custom work.
Q) Can you sell my old stuff?
A) Sorry, no, but I recommend using the following options: Facebook (local buy/sell groups), Chairish.com, Letgo.com, Ebay, Craigslist, or your local consignment store. If you inherited granny's lovely antique dining set but it's not your taste, then you could also check into local auction houses such as Michaan's or Bonhams. If giving things away makes you happy, then I suggest joining a group like Freecycle (check your local area), Goodwill, or The Salvation Army or seeing if a friend or family member would like your gently-used items. As a last resort, take advantage of your yearly dumpster from your garbage company (in Alameda it is ACI) and you can really go to town. Be a good neighbor and do not put things on your curb with a "free" sign. Your neighbors will thank you!
Q) How do I pay you?
A) Sand & Stars accepts checks and some electronic forms of payment.
